[...This is ridiculous. She shouldn't be alive - not for a third time, and not without Souichirou. Everything about this is wrong.

Caster can't feel the connection to a Master, either, and she doesn't have to try to realize her magic has been stripped from her. All of her power is gone; she can feel that much. She hasn't been so helpless in all her life.

She finds a phone next to her on a bench, and without thinking she picks it up. She doesn't have a number to dial, so she just puts the phone to her ear and hopes someone's on the other end.]

...I seem to be lost. Is there anywhere I can find shelter here...? Heh. I doubt I'll be as lucky as I was last time...

If anyone's there, please respond. Even telling me the name of this place would be a help. I can't repay you right now, but...

[She trails off, and stops talking. She doesn't really have any intention of owing someone a favor just because they decided to tell her the name of the city though.]

[Oh. He thinks that voice sounds familiar. He stares at the phone for a moment after turning the video on, not sure how to phrase things.]

Y-you can stay at the hotel if you want, there are rooms available for free to newcomers. You're in Prospero, an American city, and... A-aren't you someone I know?

If you just arrived, there's a hotel that doesn't seem to charge anything for whatever reason. This city's name is Prospero, and it's located somewhere in America.

[Caster stares at the phone, trying to figure out this video function thing. Somehow she manages to turn it on, and when she sees who it is she panics a little. How is she supposed to explain her disappearance from the shrine?

Well, she'll come up with something.]

[It takes everything she has not to ask "Is Souichirou here, too?" She's not that optimistic.]

I'm in the same position as anyone else taken here - I woke up here with no way to return. No one in Fuyuki can be reached by phone, and visiting any of our homes yields no results.

I'm sorry. For the time being, I can only say that both of us are trapped.

Prospero...that's a lofty name to live up to. It's ambitious. I like it.

I actually hadn't considered it much myself, though I suppose you're right.

[She recognizes that voice...just barely. Rider didn't last too long in UBW, after all...]

Is this what passes for prosperous nowadays, I wonder? It seems like an ordinary city to me.

[Not that question. He didn't want to explain that to her.]

I, I had thought when he disappeared a few months ago that he just left suddenly. It would have suited him, as he appeared with little warning a few years before that.

It's...a little less than ordinary, to be completely honest. Though I'm not sure you'd believe me if I elaborated.

[Weakly:]

[She knows exactly what happened, then. Souichirou was killed, even after her efforts to protect him.

She expected an answer like this. Masters couldn't be left alive - there's no reason for him to be alive now.

But having it confirmed is still devastating. She turns away from the phone's camera and hangs her head.]

...I'm so sorry. Although I don't understand everything involved or even know much about you, I know how much he meant to you.

Once a night for an hour, this city is overrun by creatures called Shadows. Those of us that have been brought here so suddenly appear to be the only ones that stand any chance of fighting against them.

I see. Well, unfortunately for Prospero, I don't seem to have my only way of fighting back.

[His door is propped open for when she finds that, and he's pacing anxiously around his room until she gets there.]

[When Caster arrives, she knocks on the door once to let him know she's there, and then comes in.]

None of us do, it seems. Our weapons, abilities, and things like that are more or less gone.

...And that is where it admittedly gets stranger.

Circumstances aside - if you are my brother's fiancee, then you must be my sister, and I would be remiss in leaving you to fend for yourself.
