*Allen clicks the phone on, collapsed in a chair with a cup of coffee.*

Man, what a day. Everyone thinks their home security systems are on the fritz, while I can't shake being reminded of the plenetary disappearances back home. I keep thinking that Gnosis are going to start popping up left and right or something. And to top it all off, I can't even go fishing because then I have to be reminded that everyone who disappears seems to be as good as dead.

So, um...is there anything I can do around here to take my mind off of what's going on? Or...if anyone has any ideas what might be causing this, I would be willing to help theorize.

Ah, speaking of theories. I was told to talk to you regarding ideas as to how we got here in the first place?

(Mods, Allen and Albedo both need tags in the main comm, please?)

INCOMING Tl;DR

Ah, yes. Whoever told you that knew what they were talking about. I have several ideas, none of which are actually proven but all of which are possible.

The first and most obvious to some is the possibility that we are all dead and this is some sort of afterlife, but frankly, that seems the most unlikely. An afterlife would likely be larger and more specialized. It seems odd that people from wildly different times and, apparently, universes would all turn up in the same afterlife within a few months of each other, especially when only a select few have any memory of dying before-hand.

This -- that is, Prospero -- could also be some sort of hub between times and universes. That is, a place prone to pulling in inhabitants of surrounding realities from various places on the timeline within those realities and forcing them into one reality and onto one timeline. That is the simplest explanation, but it does not explain the how, why or who of the matter, which leaves it largely up to debate. I have seen space manipulated within a universe, and I have seen what I believe to be the manipulation of time, but both together and on such a wide variety of realities would require both knowledge and equipment far beyond even my ability to produce.

My current theory, thus, is that this is not a hub of corporeal bodies but of consciousness. That, I have seen done -- the removal of a consciousness, of a 'self', and its relocation. I posit that our consciousnesses were removed from our bodies in some way and brought here, where due to the nature of this universe they take on a seemingly corporeal form.

Of course, none of this is proven. I intend to experiment upon the shadows, which I believe are also beings being drawn in from a universe more parallel to this than any other (thus their high crossover rate). The possibility of this being helpful is not entirely certain, but it is a chance I am willing to take if it means getting closer to discovering why and how we are here.

Well, there's the standard forms of relaxation to take your mind off things: y'know, just doing stuff you enjoy. Fishing can't be the only thing you've got in mind, can it?

Camping's always fun, though considering the nature of what you wanna get your mind off of it might not be all that safe right now.

Considered something more simple? The fine arts are a nice time-sink; I may be using my own opinions here, but they feel pretty rewarding too.

[She grins.]

If you never tried it, how would you know? Maybe it's your true calling, as-yet undiscovered until now~

"He who dares, wins."

Worst comes to worst you'll just take your mind off things for a while, y'know?

It is you! It's good to see you again!

Mm-hmm, I'm okay. Still a little unsettled, but everyone here is very kind. How are you doing?

We were making progress, but... now I'm here, so not much can be done. So you must be from the same time as me, then!

Yes, it's amazing how basic the technology here is. And I've heard others call it advanced! It's fascinating.
