...Saber, what are you doing this weekend?
[A; video; afternoon]
It's apparently said that you should 'never meet your idol'. It's sound logic, if one wants to avoid disillusionment.
But on the other hand, maybe it's not such a bad idea after all. You might be pleasantly surprised, right? Even if you'd put that person on a metaphorical pedestal, surely they'd meet some of your expectations one way or another.
Sorry, I think I'm rambling. Is everyone alright after that full moon nonsense?
[B; action; evening]
[Lancer didn't really like returning to an empty hotel room. Sure, it had been easy enough to deal with when he'd first arrived, but he'd gotten far too used to Saber's presence. More so than he should have, he recognized that much. But even in his lifetime he had rarely been alone, even when living as what amounted to a fugitive. It was a difficult thing to get used to, he realized.]
[So that's probably why he was currently sitting in a bar with a glass of god only knew what in his hand. Sure, he wasn't talking to anyone and sure, Ryuunosuke was probably screwing around in the same building, but at least the place wasn't empty. Maybe that was all he wanted.]

[It wasn't as if that would be a new experience. Lancer had been asked by a woman to do worse for what amounted to a test of pride, hadn't he? Defying Fionn had been tantamount to defying the gods as far as Diarmuid was concerned, but he'd done it regardless. Not only because he'd been bound by a magical contract, but because it was the right thing to do.]
[The same applied here; although Saber was not Grainne and he wasn't under any kind of geas this time, what could Diarmuid do save for the right thing?]
[He had sworn his loyalty. There was no way he could go back on it now and strike her down, no matter what kind of enemies they had started out as. Things had changed...and so had he. Though he hated to admit it, Lancer knew he wasn't exactly the same as he'd been the night they first met.]
[Ultimately, there was only one thing he could do in response. Only one thing would have been right, and so this time he would forsake pride in favor of his sworn oath.]
