♚ are you my master?
[ First impressions were important to Saber. To become a ruler, she presented herself to her kingdom as the wielder of Caliburn, the famed sword from the stone. The precedent was broken with the last introduction she ever had to make: asking a boy who looked as though he was about to die of fright and wonder if he was her Master. Sloppy, but it ended with the elegance only she could control.
A glance out the window and she can see the sun barely over the horizon, watching long enough to determine it was rising instead of setting: morning. With that much in mind, she ignores the curiosity with her body, choosing to focus on her appearance first. After swiftly changing from her battle vestments (a slight ire at how easily the breastplate comes undone - a sign that the enchantment it held was no longer in place), she dons a black suit in its place. There isn't any time to waste with a braid, so the end result is a ponytail.
It doesn't take her long at all to discover how to use the cellular device found on the night table beside her bed. Technology wasn't too foreign to her, but it takes a few tries before she figures out everything, sending accidental texts of jibberish and snippets of voice (but with only the sound of the phone fumbling). Pressuring eyes of green focus on the camera as she sets it to video, ready to address any audience she may have. ]
A brief analysis of the situation leaves me unsatisfied with the number of questions that remain. I am not arrogant enough to believe I am without purpose here, but some enlightenment of the situation is in order. [ A stoic tone that refuses to soften. ] There is something that perturbs my iron will however...
[ Good luck trying to wrestle just what that something is from her mind. ]

[ It bothers her that he did this perhaps, but it is a topic she'll relent on in favor of things that are deemed greater in importance. ]
Familiarity in an unknown world brings a subtle comfort to those who thought all hope was lost. [ In short... she's glad to see you too, Lancer. ]
I will be the judge behind your questionable sanity. Proceed.

More than that, at that time the streets seem to be inhabited by otherworldly black creatures that have attacked several of us--those that don't turn into coffins when they appear.
[He spoke in a completely calm tone, expression turning to one of careful thought.]
At first I thought perhaps Caster--if I'm still alive, then I fail to see how he couldn't return as well. But no...this is too much even for him. This is Second Magic that's brought us here, I'm sure of it. Not to mention that only something like the Holy Grail could turn Servants human.
I don't know if you're going to believe any of this--but if you don't, wait until midnight. All of us that have been brought here so far have experienced it similarly.

Foolish or not, I have witnessed this myself. Several times, each night without fail.

Lancer? [ Spoken out of confusion, the girl that Shirou brought out in her coming out momentarily. ]

[For a second, she seemed...different, somehow. Changed in a way he couldn't quite place. But there were more important things to discuss, and so Lancer didn't pursue the matter at that moment.]
There are very few things I wish for given this particular chance at life, Saber. As there is no Holy Grail War to fight here, I see no reason for us to be at each other's throats at every waking moment.
In my opinion as a knight, our priority should be protecting those that can't protect themselves. I fought alongside you once, and it would be my honor to do so again.
