First Ritual of Detestation: A light in endless darkness (Video/Voice)

[ This wasn't exactly the sort of mission he had imagined, when called back from the brink of madness and damnation by his brothers. No longer a superhuman, no longer even aware of where he was, he looks over the small communication device, and the simple clothes that have replaced his battle-plate, and activates the odd little cogitator. A huge, craggy face, pale and lightly freckled, stares out at the world with grey eyes that have seen far too much already ]


It would appear I am once again alone. Are there other Adeptus Astartes in this place, or have I gone beyond everything that I have known? If I have been captured, I would speak to my captor, and if I have been set adrift in the warp... I would know if there are other castaways. So, speak, and explain this strange situation to me.

[ Garviel scowls when she says that Traitors are an inevitable part of life and responds. ] It was not always thus. For two hundred years the Great Crusade spread outwards across the stars bearing aloft the light of secular enlightenment and truth, fighting against the darkness of Old Night. This kind of heresy was a new experience for me... and one I had never expected.

[ Regarding his analysis ] I had only thought that it was likely that if I was brought to a place like this with a purpose, I'd be liable to meet fellow warriors. For any place that I am called is liable to be a cauldron of battle swiftly enough. If the guess was correct, it was a mixture of deduction and luck. That... and there is something about your speech that suggests the formal knights templar of Rogal Dorn. Addressing me as Sir Garviel, for one thing.

Then I shall protect them. The Legiones Astartes were created as the protectors of humanity, and simply being dislocated will not change that.

[ Garviel is quiet for a moment, letting Saber chew that one over. He contemplates the situation, looking away from the camera briefly, out the window, putting him into side profile. ]
