So...I have a question. And yes, it's about shopping for Christmas presents. I need to get a gift for Kaiji and well since I've started going out with him...the standards are a little higher now. Before anyone asks, no, I will not the more 'adult' route since we're not that far yet. I like do so something that's a little more classy than that but not food.

[Saori just finished making some rather cute looking gingerbread houses, which might explain why the hotel smells of it tonight. All that's left is for everything to dry and it'll be ready for display. She thought it would be a nice addition to all the Christmas decorations in the lobby. That could be all done tomorrow since she's now asleep at a kitchen counter. Luckily, the ovens are off, so no fire hazards there. Now what?]

At least the gingerbread houses look nice, though the distinct lack of waffles in the construction is somewhat disappointing.

Mmhm. I quite like your gingerbread architecture. It's very sensible.

[Sparks tend to build ten-foot-tall gingerbread castles complete with working defenses, so it's nice to be able to walk past them without a tiny hail of peppermint arrows hitting him in the face.]

Thank you. It took a lot experimenting but somehow I got it done.

Are those...waffles I'm smelling?

[The waffle iron takes that moment to beep, indicating the currently-cooking waffle is ready for ingestion. It's got raspberries cooked into it, because they were in the fridge so why not?]

I'm afraid I'm not terribly skilled in the kitchen outside of waffles and waffle-like derivatives. Most Sparks have particular skills and quirks not necessarily related to the hard sciences -- this, I have discovered, is mine.

[There's already syrup and butter out, as well as the berries because extra berries are always a good plan. Almost offhand as he pours more batter into the waffle iron, Klaus adds:]

[Saori plates one, spreading a little butter on it and a few berries on top. She tilts her head at his warning but does take a seat. After taking a bite, there's a pause and the sound of a fork dropping on her plate.]

That would be illegal gambling though. You have to be a certain age to gamble, technically speaking. If it's just a game where no money's being wagered, it's fine but that wasn't the case.

No, just a regular one. Apparently he uses one for work and could use a new one.

Well, he has used a baseball bat to fight. A sword would be useful but I don't think he's had any training using one.
