This is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. The real one.

Please disregard anything you may have been told by the last person on this network claiming to be me. I'm sorry for the confusion.

[Wherever Saber's living now, early that evening there would be a knock on her door by a very unhappy-looking Diarmuid.]
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth glares into the distance with a serious expression. (srs face of srs prawskyootr is srs)

If you'll allow me to step inside, I can elaborate; the situation is best discussed confidentially.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth has a neutral or inscrutable expression. (Default)

[Edgeworth nods, walks in, coses the door behind himself, and only spares himself a quick glance at the surroundings and a few yards' distance from the door before getting straight to business:]

I understand that you may be the victim of a crime.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth points and occasionally waves his finger as he talks. (TL;DR)

Theft of identity can be a serious problem in today's world. While what publicly transpired only seems to rise to the level of criminal mischief, it's important to make sure that whoever is responsible didn't take advantage of the situation to interfere with anything more than your interpersonal relations. The crime is widely known for enabling theft of a more literal variety, though it has several other applications.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth glares into the distance with a serious expression. (Glare #2)

I've rarely prosecuted crimes that did not involve immensely complex situations. Few people are driven to extremes by simple matters.

[He looks pretty serious about this, too.]
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth crosses his arms and taps his finger on one of them. (Well?)

I've dealt with cases involving international smuggling and counterfeiting, coverups of incidents ranging from embarrassing to felonious, corrupt authorities including colleagues at the time, attempts to manipulate employment, love triangles and even a love pentagram at one point, and forces that oughtn't exist. Some of these cases have scarcely been solved within the time allotted. Do not presume that complexity will hinder me.
truthsnomiracle: (Unpleasantly surprised)

[Edgeworth pauses, doubly uncomfortable at this. After all, the situation described involves not one but two things he isn't at all comfortable with -- supernatural forces and the insanity defense. When he continues, firmness and confidence have given way to caution in his tone:]

...To begin with, can proof of the unwilling nature of this obsession be furnished?
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth is rubbing his forehead with his fingers to stave off a headache. (This is giving me a headache)

If that is the case, it does indeed severely complicate matters. However, the situation is not entirely without recourse.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth points and occasionally waves his finger as he talks. (Making my case)

A restraining order. Essentially, under some circumstances -- typically those involving stalking or persistent harassment -- it is possible to make it illegal for a particular person to contact or come within a certain radius of you.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth is glaring harshly at you. (Glare)

Be aware that stalking is itself a crime. In my prior jurisdiction, it was subject to six months to a year in prison, fines ranging from five hundred to a thousand dollars, or some combination thereof, depending on the circumstances. To merely subject her to a restraining order could be seen as a warning by comparison -- one which, if ignored, would cause her to have broken two laws rather than one.

Was it your choice to have this effect on others?
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth stares into the storm with a brooding, grim expression. (Stormy)

...Diarmuid. One of the key principles of the age -- one that, indeed, mankind still struggles to fully embrace -- is that mere existence should never be a crime.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth glances away, looking awkward and uncomfortable. (This is awkward...)

...Then the path that must be walked is clear, though how it could possibly be reached is not.

[To judge by his tone, whatever idea he has doesn't seem to be very comfortable for him.]
