What holidays do you have at home? There's talk of Christmas here, of course, but I realize that not everyone may have a similar holiday in their world. I'd love to hear more about different cultures and religions - it's one of my greatest areas of interest.

Also, should we have a Christmas party, assuming that circumstances allow it?

Right, you wouldn't have a vase... Keep them in any container of water and they'll last longer, ideally a vase or something similar.

They're decorative, they make your home smell better, and specific flowers carry a meaning when you give them to someone. The spring crocus stands for youthful gladness and the lesser celandine stands for joys to come.

But no, they don't have a practical function. They're only a sentimental gift.
