Perhaps it has been decided our duty here is over and we are slowly being allowed to go home again one by one.

it's easily the most optimistic one i've heard all day.

It is a fairly credible possibility, after all, is it not? I would not want to discard the thought of it that easily.

right!
there's no reason to think that something bad happened just because they're gone.
or at least it's just as likely that something good happened instead.
and we were all brought here pretty abruptly.
it makes sense for us to leave the same way.

We were not given any reason as to why were taken to this place either way, so perhaps it was a mere whim that is releasing us now as well.

I do not think that explanation is that strange.
