[The day after her unfortunate introduction to Prospero in the middle of the Dark Hour, Asuka quite guiltlessly slept until 11 am and, nonplussed to find herself still in this weird town, set about assessing her situation and getting stock of her available resources - to say nothing of washing up after her first real hand-to-hand combat experience. Once all that's done, however, she begins on her first and most obvious asset - the phone.]

Okay.
So.
I'm in 'Prospero', in the US. I have no idea how I got here, let alone who managed to spirit me off a verdamnt aircraft carrier in the middle of the Pacific. Well, as long as I'm in Prospero, 'if this were played upon a stage, I must condemn it a most improbably fiction'.
Before any idiots ask, I'm referencing Shakespeare, okay?
Anyway, someone had better explain to me what's going on here. I have very important business in Japan, which, by the way, the fate of the world depends on, and my employers are not going to be happy about this involuntary leave here. And this is without even going into whatever the hell that trip was last night. Seriously, Analytical Psychiatry is bunk anyway.
[Finally, she brandishes her letter]
And one last thing - how and why am I enrolled in high school here?!

What's with that look?

What I meant to say is whatever you're talking about is news to me. Probably will be to a lot of other people here too, unless it's someone you already know.

...
Alright. "Giant apocalyptic aliens" are kinda the order of the day as far as you're concerned, right? No matter how I wrack my memory, I can't remember a single time things were anything like that, for me.
On top of that, when I talked about what I'm used to seeing on a daily basis to people, all I got were blank stares in return.
...In short, think of the 'most improbable fiction'; that might be what's going on here.
Are you trying to tell me this is some kind of alternate reality where Angels aren't attacking and trying to wipe out humanity? It'd explain why the northeastern US still has barrier islands anyway.

Re: [Video]
...still, this is pretty unbelievable even for me. How do I know you're not lying, or have false memories, huh?
And if I've got false memories, even I wouldn't know. We'd both be better off making sure I'm not full of shit. Me so I stop looking like an idiot, and you to see whether or not you really do need to hightail it back to... Japan, was it?
...but if what you're saying is true, then I'd need to hightail it to Japan in another dimension.
That sums it up pretty well, actually. I'm trying not to worry about what's going on "back home", for lack of a better euphemism, myself. Who knows how time flows here compared to elsewhere.

... So, yes! Narnia is in fact where we are. It is here.

[Well, she's messing with you a bit now at least.]
Then again it also has horrible monsters every night.
Guessing the blobby-masky-thingies aren't quite traditionally American, then.

[Yeah, Asuka only spent a couple of weeks solid studying that after action report. Friggin' first Angel combat in history and she was on the other side of the friggin' world.]
