*Kaoru continues to inspect the posters and quickly deduces their purpose. Her attention is then drawn to the thing at the side, an apparent time-filler in which people try and usually fail to obtain cheap toys and candy prizes by controlling a metal contraption with a joystick. Observing the lineup for a while, she notices a pattern in which the claw moves differently and allows a bigger win every couple of tries.

When John gets back to Kaoru, she's used her predictions of the queue to get herself at the front of the line when the claw machine actually lets people win. She is now the proud owner of a colossal plush bird half her size.
