Unit 6 - Where in the Hotel gains access to a pool table. No need for a bar.

[Early one evening, if one happens to walk through the hotel lobby, they may notice something that hadn't been there when they had left through those doors.

A pool table.

Thanks to that odd offer of the powers that be to give them back something from home, Gaignun (somewhat jokingly) asked for the pool table from his office, and got it much to his surprise. It's a well loved pool table, well made with a few nicks and scratches in the wood work that speaks to the fact that it actually got used.

So there it sits, in the side of the hotel lobby, fully decked out with a sign posted saying "Free to play, just take good care of it."

It's owner, a face familiar to mosmt is right now just happily noodling around on it, making random shots. Feel free to join him, he's always up for a game.]


[[ooc: So the hotel now has a pool table, which is free for anyone to use. It's now a fixture there until he finds somewhere else to put it so feel free to appropriate it for other threads and what not.]]

Gambling is a good way to pass the time, but you always must be careful with it. Besides, we gamble with more then money it seems at home.

Your luck really isn't all that bad Allen, really. I mean, you've got a high position in Vector, Shion is coming around, and you made it out alive.

The position in Vector was determination, not luck. And I wouldn't call getting stuck in the middle of all that lucky...not to mention, as soon as Shion did start coming around, I ended up here without her.

Speaking of you being places...[He'll start this casual, Allen is a skittish little thing and he doesn't want to scare him off.]

I've been meaning to ask you for a while. [He takes a shot.] About MOMO's dive.

*His hand tightens a bit around his cue stick, a little nervously. He knew he'd let slip that he knew more about the URTVs than they'd told him and he's really hoping Gaignun won't actually be bothered about that.*

I just wanted to know what you saw. I had already left by the time of the second operation and I never saw the reports. Even if I had had the chance, I know Jr would not have wanted to talk about it.

[He's not mad Allen, really. More...curious then anything.]

...Mostly it was Jr.'s memories from the Yuriev Institute. I saw two of your Dives into Sakura's subconscious, including when the Standard URTVs ganged up on Jr. before the second one and when they got infected by U-DO's waves. I...also saw when Albedo found out you and Jr. were mortal.

Ah...I see. [He pauses for a moment, thoughtful.] I can understand why Albedo wanted you to see all of that, his motivations I mean. I also wonder though if he was making sure Jr. hadn't forgotten either.

Who knows...but I do know some of his memories were mixed in there, too. There was one thing we saw...you and Jr. weren't there. It was just Albedo out in the park, digging what looked like miniature graves.

*He can't help but shudder a bit at that memory. It was disturbing in a way completely different from Albedo's usual.*

Ah, then it's probably to the good that I haven't asked Albedo about what was going on.

It's alright. I can see why you would want to know what information everyone has about what happened back then.

Yes, I wanted to know because whatever it was I know it would have affected Jr quite heavily, not to mention because Albedo is here, I need to know what he wanted out of it.

Because I brought it up, you're welcome to ask about anything that may have confused you. I don't mind.

Why didn't anyone object to you being sent out to war so young?

Allen, you have to understand. We were specially designed to be weapons. Some of the soldiers were rather surprised, but once we proved that we were somewhat effective they just kind of went with it.

I do remember Juli Mizrahi not wanting us hurt but...we were just the best tool for the job, it just so happened that we looked like children. No one really thought of us that way, not even ourselves at the bottom of it. Citrine even commented on it once.

We were useful I guess is what I'm trying to say.

It still makes me sick how people can think like that. Even KOS-MOS, who was entirely mechanical and programmed to be a weapon got better treatment than that.

Besides, we were government funded,not to mention military backed, and you know what people view things that come from that type of money.

[Still, he has to smile at Allen's empathy. How are you from the Xenosaga universe, seriously.]

Also at this point I think people were used to genetically modified soldiers being on their battle fields.
