You're on an island called Prospero. Any supernatural powers you might've had are gone now. You've been given a power called a Persona, which you can call on when you're in danger. There's monsters called Shadows that show up at midnight - the scenery changes then, too.

There's also a hotel you can stay for free at, and they give you coupons for food. There's something about some crazy religious cult around too, but I haven't been around here long enough to really know much about any of it.
