[He followed an Earthling, and now look where it got him. Sure, their habits were rubbing off on him, but his actions were in good conscious and all. The only problem now was he didn't know where he was, and from his point of view, everything in this city was far too obsolete. He found a communicator of some sort, but he wasn't sure if it was going to work. He didn't even know if anyone was around because the part of the city he ended up in looked to be abandoned.
Sigh.
Standing here wasn't going to do anything for him. He had to try, even though he could have just went peacefully and sat here until he died. Again, another problem for him was that he felt his body feel alive. His body didn't feel like a weapon, and it just struck even more confusion in him.
Being on another planet though? No biggie. He didn't care. After exploring the Star Ocean, he was used to finding himself on different planets.
Now he just had to find out where he was, and if he could leave.
It must be the bad karma. It must be. Otherwise he wouldn't be here right now. He wouldn't be here, fidgeting with this device if it wasn't for his bad karma.
Ah well. He manages to get this thing to work after a few tweaks, and on the feed, the person on the other side will notice that Arumat is not human. And that he looks a bit angry.]
To anyone who receives this transmission...
It seems to appear that I'm on a different planet. Those who know where we are, I'd like to know what planet this is, and if I can leave.
If there is anyone out there.

[He sighs in relief internally. At least there were people around.]
I want to know the year, and what this place is called.
...
Holy shit, I never asked what year it was.
Is that so? [Be nice Arumat, be nice.] I guess I'll find out some other way.
In the mean time, I'd like to know more about this "Earth".

But considering the immediate response to your question, you can't get back to where you were again.
[A pause.] Don't you Earthlings have battle ships?

[Flat stare. This was getting old, real fast.]
How long has everyone been confined here?
Video
Most of us have been here for months, though I think there are a few of us that have been here for a year.
[Death didn't come easy for him, but to these people... Him being here was a bit of a death sentence. Or so he thought.]
Tell me about Earth. I've had experience with a few Earthlings, but I was never informed much of their world.
I... still don't know much about this time, but technology has allowed communication and transport between countries to be simple and stores provide us with most of the necessities we would need, though you need to get the money to buy them first.

Anyway, welcome to planet Earth! I'm sorry, but I don't think I can take you to our leaders.
Are you stuck in this world as well, little girl?
Unfortunately, yes. That seems to be the case for anyone here who hails from another world - even if it's another Earth.
[SHRUG.] Another Earth, huh? I'm not surprised.
[Fuck all these alternative worlds man.] Are you familiar with this planet?
And yes, I am. I was born and raised on Earth, as a matter of fact! Just not this one. There's a few differences, but enough of it is alike that I can get by just fine.

The only ones who leave are taken against their will. Just like how they came.

That so? Then I might just have to find a way out. Or force my way back.

[video] oh god this is so late.
This island is called Prospero and year is 2012 CE or AD, depending on your preference. How much have you been filled in about this planet so far?
[video] That's okay~
[A shrug.] Ah. I am much further back then I thought.
[AD, what the hell.] Something about shadows, personas, a full moon, the dark hour... Whether or not it's true, is beyond me. I don't doubt any of the information I was given, though.
