Unit 9 [Action/Video] - This one's a killer, don't die.
For the past few dark hours, people around town may have caught a brief sight of a young woman disappearing in to the shadows. Her movements are fluid, and practiced, and she is clearly tracking someone.
It's the Dark Hour between Friday and Saturday that she catches up with her wayward prey, dropping down in front of him. Gaignun's phone drops out of his pocket, flicking onto Video once it hits the ground, the camera staring up at the two figures. The woman is the first to speak, the first words out of her mouth were not a greeting, or an insult, but a simple question.
“Why are you in control? Where's father?”
"C-Citrine?!"
Hiyono? I'm near the business district, but I'll be alright! You concentrate on getting back inside. [He refuses to give Citrine more targets.]
Sorry, but I'm not going to rest that easily. Try to hold her off as well as you can, alright?
[And with that, she begins heading over, summoning up Lakshmi to constantly scan the area around her for Shadows in her vicinity. She can only hope the one Gaignun is facing will happen to have an exploitable weakness.]
Alright, but this will have to be a running fire fight! [Time to dodge a few attacks himself, while getting off a shot here and there]
[Video] > [Action]
[In fact, he might not even need to listen to the feed, because there's definitely some backup fire aimed at the Shadow!Citrine, particularly her legs. And Hiyono's aim isn't too shabby to boot.
The girl herself isn't too far away; she stopped to take aim the minute she spotted the two, although for now she's keeping back to offer support more than a direct attack.]
[Action] - Man he is grateful to see you.
Hiyono! Keep moving!
[Action] Hiyono is a helper!
[She begins to move, although she's still got an eye on Citrine. Her shots cease briefly as the figure of a woman appears.]
Bufu!
[She may not have a weakness to ice, but it's always good to test out your options nevertheless.]
[Action] Best Helper - and sorry, I suck at battle tags.
Ganging up on me won't save you! [The shadow is rather angry now, and sends out a shockwave style blast that will do 666 points of damage if it hits. Thankfully she only aims it at Gaignun however. The blast manages to knock him into a building with a loud thud. With him momentarily out of the way, Citrine now turns her attention to Hiyono]
Walk away child. Quiet---. [She stops, and falls. A shot to the back of her head being her demise is revealed before she fades away.]
That...ow....was interesting. [Gaignun hauls himself the rest of the way up.] Are you alright Hiyono?
[Action] It's fine, they aren't exactly my strong point either |Da
You took more damage than I did. I'm perfectly fine.
[She casts a concerned look in his direction, beginning to walk towards him.]
Will you be alright? I can help you back to the hotel if you need it.
[Action] :3
Thank you for your help, she would have been a lot more trouble once she got going.
[Action]
[She says it brightly, but... there's definitely a certain coldness to her tone.
At the very least, I'll head back to the hotel with you. Safety in numbers, after all!
[Action]
[Action] HTML hates me lately /)_(\
Shall we?
[And so she begins to walk! She's still got her handgun in case they encounter the usual Shadows, but at least outwardly she's much more relaxed.]
[Action] Ah, it happens. HTML is a tempermental little critter
What were you doing out by yourself anyways?
[Action] Indeed...
But that may just be me.
As for why I'm out and about... Well, my Persona grants me the ability to analyze Shadows, so I thought I'd put it to use by identifying any "newcomers" we came across. It looks like most people are wising up, but I think it's still best to have someone on backup if possible.
[Action]
As for adventures, they can also interfere with self discovery if they prevent you from thinking.
[Action]
Hmmm... even if you have the time to think, who's to say your thoughts won't be manipulated? You have to rely on your own strength of character to realize your own failings and overcome them, even if analyzing the situation logically would indicate there is no possibility. And even if it turns out you can't... You will still know whether or not you are the type who can get up after a defeat.
[Her expression was thoughtful for a bit, before going back to her usual silly smile.]
Eheheh, somehow this conversation got kind of serious. We should really lighten up! After all, we did just manage to stop another one of those pesky Shadows.
[Action]
[Ugh...manipulated thoughts. Yeah, not going there with a ten foot pole. When it actually happens to you, that hypothetical concept starts to get really troubling.]
That's true, we did, didn't we. One less of those ones on the street. It will make a difference.
[Action]
I've been trying to keep track of who has met with a Shadow so far, but I'm not sure how many have been broadcast and how many might involve people who have managed to keep their phones off. Counting the both of us, I'd say it's around... fourteen now? And if you assume there's one per person, then...
[They've still got a ways to go before they've eliminated all of the threats.]
[Action]
Still, we may yet be proven wrong.
[Action]
[So sayeth the girl who tried to attack a boy on crutches.]
[Action]
[Action]
I hope they don't think they'll get away with this sort of thing for much longer.
[Action]
[Oh thank goodness, there's the hotel. Soon he'll be able to sit down. Soon.]
[Action]
[She's lookin' at you, dude.]
Even though it might not affect our lives in our own worlds, our lives here still mean something.
[Aaaand arrival! She'll quicken her pace to get the door for him.]
[Action]
Of course our lives mean something here. Any life means something where it is being lived.
