[As the Dark Hour came to an end, so did the horde of Shadows that had gathered in the street. In the middle of the horde was a beautiful woman with ankle-length hair, clutching a pair of nail-like daggers with chains hooked onto their ends.

In Rider's mind, though the threat was gone, there was still more than enough reason to keep her guard up. This was a place unfamiliar to her. She doesn't know what causes those monsters to appear. Her status as a Servant is gone, and she can tell from her strength and speed. Breaker Gorgon is gone, yet she seems unable to petrify anything with her gaze. But most importantly, she doesn't know where Sakura is.

Looking around, Rider notices a cell phone on the ground. No one in her family uses one, but she's seen other people around Fuyuki use it. How difficult can it be?]

If anyone can hear this, I have three questions I require answers to. First, I wish to know where I am. Second, I want to know what those...creatures were that I just fended off.

And third, I am looking for a girl with waist-length purple hair and a red ribbon, and want to know if anybody has seen her.

Strange as it may sound, it seems that all of us brought here eventually awaken to a particular kind of power that enables us to fight Shadows with less difficulty. They're called Personas--I would compare them to some kind of summoning magecraft, but I don't think it really applies.

How does one awaken to this...power?

Most commonly, they seem to manifest when one's life is in danger. I wouldn't recommend pushing your luck, myself--it's a little troublesome.

Yes. I was summoned into the Rider class for the Fifth Holy Grail War.

Rider? I wouldn't have guessed--the one I know is remarkably different, to say the least.

As for that...yes, it would seem the other Servants here are in a similar predicament. The few magi I've spoken to have presumably lost their magecraft, and anyone more than human has lost those qualities in the same way.

But in return, we are instead given a new power, called Persona.

...I would not consider this a fair trade.

I suppose I wouldn't either, despite how effective they are in a fight.

I have one last question for you, Lancer. What are we expected to do for shelter and food?

There's a hotel in the city likely not too far from where you are now. For whatever admittedly peculiar reason, they don't seem to charge. Most of us rely on that until we manage to secure some form of income to survive on.

It's all considerably troublesome, but possible.

Then I shall make that my first order of business in the morning.
