first betrayal [voice]

[...This is ridiculous. She shouldn't be alive - not for a third time, and not without Souichirou. Everything about this is wrong.

Caster can't feel the connection to a Master, either, and she doesn't have to try to realize her magic has been stripped from her. All of her power is gone; she can feel that much. She hasn't been so helpless in all her life.

She finds a phone next to her on a bench, and without thinking she picks it up. She doesn't have a number to dial, so she just puts the phone to her ear and hopes someone's on the other end.]

...I seem to be lost. Is there anywhere I can find shelter here...? Heh. I doubt I'll be as lucky as I was last time...

If anyone's there, please respond. Even telling me the name of this place would be a help. I can't repay you right now, but...

[She trails off, and stops talking. She doesn't really have any intention of owing someone a favor just because they decided to tell her the name of the city though.]
croibhristeoir: (tell me what it is you have in store)

They are vastly different, but the ability to summon them appears roughly the same. My own is a knight, while I've heard of another summoning a phoenix, for example.

They manifest when called for, attack, and disappear just as abruptly. I can't say what exactly they are or why any of us have them.

croibhristeoir: (look so fine; really wanna make you mine)

Essentially, yes--a slightly twisted version of standard familiars, but you have the basic idea.

More often than not, they seem to first awaken when one's life is in danger. I don't think that's exactly necessary, though. Once that's happened, one simply needs to think of them to call them. I'd go so far as to call it almost an instinctual thing, really.

I do hope you'll at least stay out of trouble. Every time I say something like that, it inevitably sounds like someone's about to rush off and nearly get themselves killed just to try and awaken their Persona.
croibhristeoir: (nothin from a life that was a simple on)

I'm glad to hear it. Oh--sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. It's keeps slipping my mind while explaining things.

My name's Diarmuid Campbell. [Still a horrible alias. And yet he still uses it.] Most people just call me Lancer.
croibhristeoir: (so who am i now)

[You can just hear the record scratch in this conversation.]

[Because that voice is the last thing he associates with 'Caster'. Freaky spellbooks and tentacle monsters, yes. Serial killers, sure. Once he gave it a moment's thought, Lancer realized that oh wait, there were at least four other wars counting the ones that came before his. And the one that seemed most common...]

...the fifth?

I was in the fourth, yes. [Was every Servant in the fifth war a woman? Lancer was silently grateful he didn't have that much to deal with, at least.]

I likely should have noticed I was talking to someone involved with magecraft when familiars came up.
croibhristeoir: (not as brave as you were at the start)

I've heard much about him. He's such a respectable knight, I'm not sure what to say about the apparent reputation he has among the fifth's Servants.

...yes, that's essentially what I'd heard. I'm sure he's no less of a knight, at the very least.

I would have expected nothing less.
