[The phone fell to the floor when a small misstep caused Lancer to nudge the table it was on--in accordance with Murphy's Law, of course the video turned on. For the moment, it focused mainly on a lump of sheets and blankets a skilled eye might recognize as Saber. Just offscreen, a familiar voice could be heard muttering to himself.]

...thought for certain it was here yesterday, it's not as if it could just wander off.

[Lancer wandered onscreen, mostly in the background as he carefully examined yonder closet.]

[Now, Prospero, you may well notice three things about Lancer. One is that his hair is notably disheveled. Another is that he has a nasty looking pair of scars from some kind of stab wound lined up on his chest and back.]

[The third, directly following the second, is that he's not wearing a shirt. Sharing a room with Saber and not wearing a shirt. Scandalous. ~~Also hot damn.~~]

Are you awake, Saber? I seem to have lost something. [Pause.] Additionally, I think that perhaps we should discuss last night. That was an occurrence of no small significance for both of us, I think.

[Silence. The blanket lump shifted--you have disturbed the sleeping lion, Lancer.]

...It is at least safe to say I will be feeling the effect of that final thrust for some time yet, Lancer.

...perhaps the conclusion was a bit more forceful than I'd intended, yes.

[WELL SHIT PROSPERO, DOESN'T THAT SOUND LIKE AN INTERESTING CONVERSATION. TOO BAD, VIDEO CUTS OUT THERE.]

Anyway, why not provoke him? It's a good chance to see if he's more than just talk, while we're all brought down to mere skill alone.

If Archer wants a fight, I am not a difficult person to find. I don't feel I should waste my breath goading him into one when he's reckless enough on his own.

Oh, does that mean you're accepting challenges? Or he is, for that matter.

I'll refrain from asking who won your and Saber's match. No one truly loses a duel of that standard, anyway.

I would never refuse a challenge from anyone, I'd hope you of all people would understand that.

No, you're right. In a sense, I don't think either of us lost.

[A wolfish grin at that.]

Oh no, I understand that all too well. You should expect to receive a request of a similar nature from me eventually, as well.

I can think of few things I would consider more of an honor.

I'm guessing you're both not too beat-up to keep an eye on the others in Prospero during the Dark Hour, or am I going to have to pick up the slack for you both?

Neither of us are foolish enough to have risked severe injury. I'm confident we'll both be acting as usual in the Dark Hour.

Hm, good to hear. Not that I'd mind, of course.

That reminds me, was there a source where all the -- shadows, right? Do they have a base of their own or something along those lines?

Some of the architecture does change at night--it seems they originate from that general area. Or they simply converge upon such a place, it's difficult to tell.

I'll have to familiarize myself with the town, then.

...Though if it was that easy, I guess you and Saber would have already beaten me to the punch and defeated whatever commands the Shadows.
