Has anyone seen a puppy? [ The mortification coming from the speaker's voice is palpable. He sounds tired and upset. ] We became...separated when I arrived here.

She's white, floppy ears, fluffy, about a month old. I think...she's a Great Pyrenees, but I can't confirm it since she's a stray.

Any information is appreciated.

[ Abel remembers he should supply people with a way to reach him. ] ...my name is Abel.

Oh? Odd, thought Diarmuid quit using the name. Guess we've gotten another.

[This spoken in the tone someone would use to converse about the weather in.]

More like a designation. It's from something that... doesn't really have much meaning in this place. I guess we who still use it do so out of habit.

A job? It'd be something like that, yeah.

Not sure I can agree with that one. Nicknames are a bit more personal, more unique. If I wanted to be melodramatic I'd say job-related names are more like identity-hiding labels. [Then again, that seemed to be half the point of the class system in Fuyuki...]

Heh, good point. My usual name's a descriptor as well, now that I think about it.

It's good you're used to that kinda name-scheme, at any rate. If you consider this whole Prospero thing a job, you'll probably be working with a few of 'em again.

[A chuckle in response.] Can't say anything bad about "Abel" myself, so I'll be sticking to it.

If all the "Lancers" get confusing, I guess I can offer a remedy in my case. I'm the one with red eyes, anyway. [Spoken like that's not a somewhat-unusual pigmentation. Or eyes are an easily-visible defining feature.]
