[ When the video feed clicks on, there's actually some more silence for a few moments as the man frowns slightly - as if in concentration - at the device. But then when he notices it's working now, that he figured it out, his expression eases up a little to form a more neutral face. This person doesn't seem panicked about the situation in the slightest, even if he might be curious. ]

I assume this device is working now. [ Thankfully the grail's influence and all that helps slightly with figuring out this sort of things. He takes a deep breath, as if preparing himself to speak. His voice is rather composed, reassured. ] I have been summoned to this place. For what purpose, I do not know yet. [ But there is a purpose, there has to be, he knows. Even if he's not here as a Servant exactly, there's always some sort of purpose when God is involved. All he has to do is figure out what, and that thought steadies him, makes him as calm as always. ]

It seems this summoning was quite.. unconventional though. And though I do know that I should be giving out my name first before asking any questions as a sign of good will, I am not quite sure if it would be right to refer to myself as 'Archer' when I have not entirely been summoned as such this time. Still, any information at all concerning my current predicament would be appreciated.

You are in Prospero, an island city off the coast of what is called 'America'. You are among many who have been brought here, and the apparent purpose would seem to be to fight the monsters that appear at midnight.

It is... doubtful. Surely their Servants would be better informed of their mission, rather than merely left to assume what needed to be done and cast without their powers.

Welcome to Prospero. I apologize that I don't know how to get you out of here again, but please accept the limits of what I can offer.

The hotel is free for us to stay at, and relatively safe from the Shadows that appear at night. There are other Servants and Masters here, but so far very little fighting between us, since there are more important things to focus on.

And it understandable that they would not wish to confront each other here. This is not part of any Holy Grail War, after all - or I would assume so, at least. [ with this kind of not-quite summoning. ] ... But in that case, you are familiar with Masters and Servants too?

Supposedly, yes. Whether or not that is our actual purpose for having being summoned I cannot say, but midnight brings about a certain change in which hostile creatures come about.

Nah, actually I'd say you're more like one of those well-mannered knights than the Archers I'm familiar with. [Which means annoying in their own special way, but far more tolerable at least.]

Perhaps it's some class trait I am not quite familiar with just yet. [ maybe it's supposed to be a joke, but he says it so seriously that it almost doesn't sound like one. ]
