[The video is side ways, and the women shown in it is peering down into the camera as if it might jump out and eat her.]

Is this blasted thing even on? What's it doing? I think it's doing something.

[She turns, screen careening to the sky.]

[There's a boy's voice answering her for a second, and then the sound of someone running off after a short, rather primal shout.]

Where in the hell is Prospero? I bet one of those little brats did this. Just wait until I get back there. I'll have them in detention until they have kids.

[The video is now mostly obscured by dark, checker print cloth. She's holding the device to her hip.]

Honestly, how rude can those kids be to a little old lady?

Tch. What does a "meta" do? I know people with "powers". But it sounds different from what you're suggesting.

[She starts to smile.] How old are you?

Meta. A prefix that can mean 'beyond'. Meta-humans are those born with powers, some of which could include telepathy, the ability to see the future or transporting.

Nineteen. Has nothing to do with age, though.

[His is the annoyed and weary face of a soldier, honey. He hasn't been a boy since he was born.]

...Yeah. Then I know some metas, and would rather them in particular drop dead.

[It sounds like the Noahs fit squarely into that category.]

No. They're trying to stay away from people who'd rather have them dead. Metas are no different from other humans. Some of us take a bad path in life, but most of us are just trying to survive.

Then they change. I guess demonic is the best way to describe it.
