I’m certain this is a completely different place altogether, it's far too huge. The climate is so much different, and…this place is actually quite a bit more remarkable than my island.

Besides, I doubt an entire city could fit on my home island. The thought alone is bizarre.

More importantly, I believe leaving the church should have been impossible. It was...well, I can't quite explain why. Not even I understand it... In any case, I must return there as soon as possible. Someone, anyone, please tell me where exactly I am so that I can make the necessary arrangements to get back to my family.

Because this place-- it's not the same as where you're from. I know how that must sound, but if you were to get in contact with anyone you know, like family, they won't be there, like they never were.

Some who have gone back home, like Japan, have claimed that while everything looks mostly as they remember, there's no one they know- as if they never lived there at all.

Internet? I've heard of it, but I wasn't aware I could make use of it for such things.

A phone call would be much easier--does this device function normally as a telephone? If so, I could call my family and inform them of the situation.

No. I was on my home island Rokkenjima--in Japan.

So I've heard... but only heard. I don't know too much about it myself and I haven't investigated it too much, but if what I've heard is true, it could be possible.

I was in Japan too before I arrived here, and not in a place would I could easily find my way to America - but did you say Rokkenjima?

Yes, my situation was similar. It shouldn't have been possible for me to leave--well, it shouldn't have been possible for me to have been stuck there, either, but...

The Kansai region- Kyoto.

This city must be quite the place, to bring us from so far away...

No one knows why they pick us, but there is something we're able to do that apparently no one else can.

It'll be hard to believe, but you'll see it tonight if you stay up. At midnight strange things happen, things that only those of us that are brought here can see.

No locals seem to know anything at all about it, but at night it becomes dangerous. Forces appear... forces not human.

I suppose I'll have to see that for myself, then. And if it's dangerous I'll have to be careful as well. Though I'd rather not deal with something like that at all...

Even if you don't go out, you'll know when it happens. You should stay inside though, unless you have a way to protect yourself. These things... they're called Shadows, but they're like monsters.

I don't know if it's that, but it could be because there are people who fight them regularly and keeping them back. I haven't heard of one come into the hotel though.
