Possible shoutings of CHUG CHUG CHUG and whatever else you would expect to find at the best night of drinking ever. For now, The King of Crunk has pulled himself away from the crowd and is chilling at the bar. Totally eating peanuts and sipping on his likely 30th pitcher by now. HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH A DRUNKEN KING? That's entirely up to you. ]

[ Not so fast, Beato. He's filling her glass up yet again and giving her a very serious stare. Even if he was drunken beyond belief, he looks rather sober for the moment. ]

I said I wanted to talk, didn't I? Are you really just going to run off again? But if you feel you must go, then by all means. I'll just continue to be plagued by the "buts" and "what ifs" that have occurred since those nights.

And I believe our last meeting made my stance on her very clear.

[ Wow, way to hit him right in the feels there. He might make a face that shows his unhappiness for a brief moment, but it's quickly replaced with his default casual expression. ]

Funny. I think the same could be said about my stance towards you at the moment.

I would be lying to myself if I said you weren't interesting. There's just something about you... But I'm also not stupid enough to believe anything that happened during that time to be a clear indication of anything. So...

So, what can we do, then? I want to tell you that anything I felt for you was mysteriously induced...but that's not the case. It nags me now and has since the last time I saw you. It's certainly not that I haven't wanted to talk to you so much as I didn't know what to say.

[ There's a half teasing smirk on his face before he finishes off whatever he has left and slams the glass back down with a sigh. ]

I suppose the best thing to do is simply let the chips fall where they may. Wouldn't you agree?

[Gaining a bit of her composure back, she remembered his fairly intoxicated state. She finished the last bit in her glass and gave him a smirk.]

A smart woman speaks when she has something to say and not until.

That's fair enough. That narrows my list of people to feel uncomfortable around at least.

[ Ah... and then his own mood drops just a tiny bit. In his drunken state, he probably took that in a terribly wrong way and it shows. Have a pouty king. ]

Are you really still thinking about him? What the hell has he got that I don't?

[She'll look at him quizzically for a moment before offering a sigh.]

Oh, you can't be serious. I have to think of him. I was unfair to him without thinking. And though I know I wasn't thinking clearly at the time, I still haven't any idea of how to make things right with him.

It's not a matter of one or the other.

He's used to that sort of thing. Just forget about him. [ Oddly enough, that sounds more like an order than a suggestion. And to make sure she's paying attention, he'll lean over the table and stare her dead in the eye. ]

Just because I haven't exactly laid my claim to you yet doesn't mean that I won't fend off any worms that might try to do the same. Is that clear?

[Normally something like that would make her feel indignant. She wouldn't let someone just tell her what she can and cannot do. However, something about the way he spoke made her heart flutter whether she wanted it to or not. That wasn't something she intended to share with him, though. She'd simply put on her most defiant look.]

And if I don't forget him~? My suggestion is this, if you wish to keep my attention, you're going to have to do better than chasing away my suitors.

[ That was the Beatrice he knew. And while he would never really admit he may have enjoyed her more subdued side during whatever the hell that week or two was, he found her defiance much more exciting. And since he was already this close, and partially out of his head anyways, it shouldn't come as a surprise when he leans in even further to steal a kiss. Of course, when he pulls back there's only the most terrible smirk on his face. ]

I suppose I could simply kill them, no? That would keep them away for a bit longer, after all.

[It shouldn't have been a surprise, but his kiss certainly mentally knocked her back a few feet. Not that it wasn't welcomed. It was difficult to compose herself, but she somehow managed to keep her heart safely in her chest. He may have been slightly intoxicated, but this time he was in charge of his actions. That was enough to make her return the brief gesture. She, of course allowed him the smirk. At this point it was well earned.]

That's only a temporary fix. If you want something more lasting, consider what you're fighting for, not who you're fighting.~

Is that a challenge? Because you know a king can never turn one down. Not unless they are willing to admit a humiliating defeat. And I'm not planning on doing that any time soon.

Perhaps. Or just a bit of advice. Consider me a personal challenge. One I want you to win. But, I want to be fought for as much as a woman of my standing deserves. It will be up to you if you face a victory or a humiliating defeat.~

[She'll nod with a grin she couldn't possibly erase. She held her cup up a bit as if to salute him before sipping it gently.]

Pardon my saying so, but I don't think I've done too bad a job of that so far.~
