Unit 6 - Where in the Hotel gains access to a pool table. No need for a bar.

[Early one evening, if one happens to walk through the hotel lobby, they may notice something that hadn't been there when they had left through those doors.

A pool table.

Thanks to that odd offer of the powers that be to give them back something from home, Gaignun (somewhat jokingly) asked for the pool table from his office, and got it much to his surprise. It's a well loved pool table, well made with a few nicks and scratches in the wood work that speaks to the fact that it actually got used.

So there it sits, in the side of the hotel lobby, fully decked out with a sign posted saying "Free to play, just take good care of it."

It's owner, a face familiar to mosmt is right now just happily noodling around on it, making random shots. Feel free to join him, he's always up for a game.]


[[ooc: So the hotel now has a pool table, which is free for anyone to use. It's now a fixture there until he finds somewhere else to put it so feel free to appropriate it for other threads and what not.]]

I guess this saves the trouble of finding somewhere with a pool table if you want to play.

I guess so. I'm honestly not happy about where I have to store it, but it's not as if I can fit this in the hotel room.

Just another reason to get out of the hotel as soon as possible, I guess. Do you mind if I play?

No, please, join me. [He waves his hand over to where the other cues are kept]. I'd love some company.

*Picking one of them up. He's had enough practice by now that he seems perfectly natural with it.*

Any guesses about why we're getting this stuff back?

Either this is a genuine gesture, or a carrot on a string. Either or, if it happens again I'm going to have to be a little more careful about what I ask for.

[Sure, he complains, but he smiles fondly as his fingers brush over the various scratches that mar the wood. Stupid Jr and his stupid holsters.]

Maybe I'll ask for my old crossbow back. Then again, I'm not sure it'll work without my Ethers and I doubt it would work during Dark Hour, either way...

*He grabs the rack and starts setting up for a proper game.*

Perhaps. Though it may well work on skill alone if you bought the arrows from here. [Ok, so he he still finds the image of Allen with a cross bow to be kind of funny, but he'd never laugh in his friends face about it.]

To be fair, I don't own anything smaller.

It's, ah, not that kind of crossbow. It's designed to fire bolts of Ether energy.

*There, everything set up properly.*

I'd suggest asking for something you can't get here. I managed to get my Connection Gear back.

...Mmm, maybe a bottle of Miltian brandy or something. Something expensive and that I know Helmer will miss if it comes from his stock.

No, he lost a card game to Jr., but didn't have anything with him so he borrowed some of my stash to pay Jr off quickly.

Jr. charges interest you see, the little savage.

Somehow, I'm not really surprised.

I would keep it in mind if he ever tries to con you into playing for stakes.

*He watches, casually trying to predict whether or not Gaignun will manage to sink the shot.*

Gambling is a good way to pass the time, but you always must be careful with it. Besides, we gamble with more then money it seems at home.

With the luck I tend to have, I kind of doubt it'd be a good idea.

Your luck really isn't all that bad Allen, really. I mean, you've got a high position in Vector, Shion is coming around, and you made it out alive.

The position in Vector was determination, not luck. And I wouldn't call getting stuck in the middle of all that lucky...not to mention, as soon as Shion did start coming around, I ended up here without her.
