[The video clicks on, showing a black haired man with a very mild look of bewilderment on his face. Not as much as one might expect from a total newbie, but by this point he's a tad used to waking up in strange places. Thanks Dad. Though really, this doesn't look like what he expected the afterlife to be. He really doesn't feel dead though so he's guessing he's alive.]

Oh so that button is the same...[Oh. Right. Broadcasting. He clears his throat]

I suppose I should go out on a limb and assume that this was not where I was supposed to end up. For one thing, I've been to most of the planets that like to emulate Lost Jerusalem and this does not look at all familiar. Would someone be kind enough to tell me what is going on here? Or at least where this place is? I have to admit I am a little lost.

Perhaps, but I'm still capable of thinking when I lose my temper. From what I've seen, Rubedo still doesn't know how to be discreet.

You've never seen him at board meetings then. He is quite capable of suppressing himself if it is beneficial. I wouldn't let him go gallivanting off on his own with the Durandal if he couldn't.

Ancient or not, it is still a city. Aside from things that rely on the UMN, there are most forms of entertainment we're accustomed to.

There are bookstores, as well.

*Is that a faint smile at mentioning the bookstores? Maybe.*

[Bookstores you say? If there's one thing all three have in common, it's books.]

Really now. [Now he really has to get a job because...BOOKS, and TIME to read said books!] That's right, they're not so rare in this day and age.

*Why do you think Albedo got a job? He can makeshift weapons, but BOOKS!*

They're common enough that one person was actually willing to part with some he didn't want for free.

[Hang on there. You have broken baby brothers brain. Restarting.]

That's...So they're really that common. I will have to look into that.

*He'll wait. He would be lying if he said he wasn't shocked, himself.*

I hardly expect that sort of generosity to be a common thing, but there hardly a rare commodity here. In new condition, even.

Of course not. [Just wait until they discover if this city has a library. No one will hear from them for weeks.]

Several works of Shakespeare. I discovered the offer too late to get my hands on the Illiad, unfortunately.

A sad loss but you still got your hands on something good, so I wouldn't be too disappointed. I'm sure you'll find a suitable copy soon enough.

[Can you see the gears going in his head there Albedo? He...he could have a collection. And not have to share with Jr.]

*Oh yes. They're the same gears that were turning in his head when he first found out about the bookstore. Sans the having to share, he never shared his old collection with anyone.*

Oh, I fully intend to. There are quite a few books I've been wanting to get my hands on that I couldn't find in our own world that should be easy to obtain here.

Still, I imagine some will even be rare in this time. I wish you good luck on that one. [Mentally he goes over a list of his favorites, ones to prioritize getting his hands on.]

I shall have to see what I can find.

[Albedo, have the most shark-like smile you've ever seen on your little brother.] I wouldn't dream of having you do so. What would the fun be in that.

[He has to laugh a bit.] I suppose that's not something that you would have suspected from me, would it. [He's fully aware that all he once was was the twin's shadow, but a lot has changed.]

*He puts a bit of emphasis on the little in a subtle challenge.*

*It's his turn to laugh, though he does seem more excited than antagonistic this time.*

Try not to disappoint. It would be a shame to get me excited about this only to utterly fail to provide a challenge.

...Nigredo. There's a beach here, as well.

Huh? [Abrupt topic change there, but he recovers quickly] A beach? A real one? [While he had his private one at home, the prospect of seeing a real honest to goodness on a planet beach is still exciting.]

Have you seen it yet?

*Albedo is unpredictable, what can he say. And he envies you that beach, baby brother.*

As authentic as it comes. I've yet to spend a day there, but I've seen it myself.
