♚ it began in the 12th century

VIDEO;
[ Gender-flipped King Arthur and technology don't really mesh too well together, seeing as it's been kicked on by accident again. This time she has her legs curled up on the couch, a tiny lion cub nestled around her battle gown and limbs. A hand idly scratches behind it's ears and the other side of her body? Resting alongside the man sitting next to her. It takes him a moment, but it seems as though he's struggling to figure out how to work a remote control.

Suddenly there's very loud noise. The phone's angled enough to get a good look at the television - are those credits vaguely familiar? ]

I was told this was the most accurate portrayal by the man who sold it to me, Lancer. [ Calmly spoken. ]

I know of few who would argue with or question the judgment of a figure such as that, at the very least.

I didn't see flails used too often, myself. Many of the Fianna favored swords and lances, with the occasional axe as well.

[Oh, fighting with one arm. That may be the most logical thing Lancer's seen so far.]

Yes. I do believe that is exactly what just transpired.

...I have heard tales where everyone from the most inexperienced knight to Cu Chulainn himself continued to fight even with the gravest of injuries. However, I don't think any of those tales ever involved hopping about and calling someone chicken.

I could, however, be mistaken. But I don't believe this is what one would call a normal thing.
croibhristeoir: (this is all i can take)

[OH NO YOU DIDN'T]

[i'm sorry seiba this relationship can't work out]

How could you possibly say such a thing--?!

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2011-09-13 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Saber, please. I must at least request that you not insult such an honorable and respected knight.

[Though the look on his face suggested he almost wanted to believe her...why would Saber of all people make something like that up?]

Is such tenacity not admirable in itself? [This beat the hell out of wondering where the hell their horses were, so Lancer would focus on it for a moment.]
croibhristeoir: (steady but i'm starting to shake)

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2011-09-13 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
I don't wish to argue it either, and I don't particularly wish to doubt you.

[hey, he walked it off. chill.]
croibhristeoir: (not as brave as you were at the start)

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2011-09-13 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Does it really seem as there was respect for anything taken into consideration when this was made?
croibhristeoir: (before i let you get away)

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2011-09-13 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a start, at least.

...One can 'get better' from being transformed into a newt? I didn't think magecraft that extreme would be the type to wear off.
croibhristeoir: (rate yourself and rake yourself)

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2011-09-13 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
No, perhaps not.

[Okay, that did get a slight laugh out of him as well.] I can't say I approve of the idea, but that was admittedly a little amusing.

[Pause.]

. . . I will grant that much of Ireland was not really comprised of the brightest individuals. But I do certainly hope not many would make drastic leaps of logic involving ducks and wood.

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2011-09-13 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Saber, if that woman weighed the same as that duck, she could be made out of many things other than wood. She could simply have neglected to eat anything.

A similarity in weight doesn't automatically mean she's made of one thing or another.

We didn't hunt witches that I know of, Saber.
croibhristeoir: (not as brave as you were at the start)

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2011-09-13 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You can't just make up criteria for what defines a witch and set them on fire, can you?

[actually, Lancer, you got the idea pretty well right there.]
croibhristeoir: (before i let you get away)

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2011-09-13 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Would their numbers not have meant you would meet resistance to such a pursuit?

[Hi, I come from a country loaded with witches and not giving enough of a fuck to start hunting them.]

[Throw a rock in medieval Ireland? You hit a witch and there is now a plague on your house.]
croibhristeoir: (not as brave as you were at the start)

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2011-09-14 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
It seems a bit excessive to me, but I won't argue the point if you believed it was the right thing. Your country's witches could easily have been different than ours.

[nah, they got rid of that when murderhound died--YEAH I WENT THERE]
