R-right. We're investigating this mess down on the shore line but...s-since this obviously isn't natural, I thought I'd ask you guys for your opinion too, so...

What the hell happened?! Everyone at the station is freaked. They hadn't even had a murder case for ten years before a few months ago, and now we get something that looks like a mass suicide?

Adachi-san and myself have been investigating the crime scene but it's fairly difficult to find any leads, even with the police departments assistance.  I would like to hear everyone's input on the situation.

[Kaiji will be found helping clean up the shore of the victims who have washed ashore. A brave move by Captain Crybaby here, but he feels bad for the people who were just trying to live a normal life on this island. He figures this has something to do with the full moon, shadows, and all that nonsense.

Anyone else who comes to the shoreline might find him helping carry body, eyes squeezed shut as he does. He'll also be taking frequent smoke breaks to gather up his nerves again, but he'll keep heading back.]

Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on? Aside the fact that there's bodies at the shore. It's creepy and how did they even end up there in the first place?! Something tells me this isn't a stupid coincidence either.

Whoever did this is going to pay. How could they do this to innocent people? They did nothing as far as I know....

Second lecture -- action

[Today was October 3rd.]

[For most people, this was probably a day like any other, except perhaps for that whole bodies thing that was going on at the shore.  That was, really, a bit disturbing and unsettling, of course.  Though Lord El-Melloi was as concerned about the whole situation as anyone else was, without any further information and the usual suspects ruled out, there was little that he could do about it.  The police were investigating, and getting in their way would not be helping anything, even if he might have liked to get a better look at things himself.]

[Aside from that, it was also his birthday.  Figures.]

[Lord El-Melloi II was thirty years old today, and he was going to spend the evening as he did every year, which was with a glass of gin and tonic to keep him company and if he'd had a video game system, he'd be playing games in his boxers while he drank it, like the classy motherfucker he was.  Birthday parties were for children, not magi of high standing.  Besides that, it wasn't as though he really had very many people to celebrate it with, even if it had been appropriate.]

[Which it wasn't.  Could you imagine anyone with a 'lord' in their name wearing a party hat?  Inconceivable.]
