And so David decided he should at least take care of the Shadows troubling people, so during the Dark Hour he is out all across town with his new toy. Or rather, actual weapon, considering he has much more than one of those toy kiddy slingshots; his own slingshot. Hamesh Avanim. And even though it's not exactly the same as back home, it still works easily to take out Shadows - with a little help from his angel Persona as well. It's much easier to just continue doing this, to help people out in a way, to not have to think of anything else.

You might come across him slinging rocks at Shadows with said slingshot or his Persona Michael.

... Or you might find a rock flying riiight past your head - a decently sized one too, the kind that could knock you out pretty easily - only to hit a Shadow a little distance away from you. It's okay, David's aim with his own slingshot is perfect, so he'd never actually hit someone on purpose.

Concerning the recent news, I feel it important to assure all of you that this case is not going ignored. Unfortunately, given the disposition of many within our ranks, I feel it necessary to spell out basic precepts of justice before anyone does something ill-advised and exacerbates the situation.

What I have to say is simply this: if you find someone who you believe to be the serial killer, do not simply kill him or her. Incapacitation prior to turning them in is acceptable, however. Even a criminal as abhorrent as this deserves to be tried and sentenced fairly, and it is my hope that the structure that currently exists is sufficient to the task.

Even if it is not, however, starting a cycle of vengeance is not the answer -- that would only reduce those involved to his level and erode what community we might possess. Now more than ever, we need to show restraint. I realize how foreign that concept must be to many of you given what apparently happened during my time abroad, but we have a responsibility to each other as kidnappees even more so than we would as members of a normal community.

I am not asking you to stand idle as such brutality takes place. I merely insist that any vigilantes keep firmly in mind that your role is not that of executioner, particularly not prior to any attempt to bring any suspect to trial. Even if you should catch them red-handed, steel yourselves against that temptation, capture the murderer if you're able, and do what you can to preserve the evidence. Prove that we can be better than a pack of wild animals.

[John heard about the murders. How can they be killing each other? Aren't they all on the same team? This idea has been in the back of his mind for a while, and maybe it'll help everyone pull together. Even just a little bit.]

Um, I guess this might seem like a bad time, considering what's been going on, but....

It might do us all some good to work together, and the people at the biggest risk of running into trouble are the people who are newer or don't have their persona yet, or don't know how to fight.

So Yukiko and I were thinking that it might be a good idea to have some kind of list for newbies. So they know who they can go to for help.

What I'm looking for is volunteers. Just let me know your name and what you're willing to help people with, like weapon training or tanking or even just helping them get their persona in the first place. Or whatever else I guess....

I'll get the list together and attach it to the FAQ I wrote. Then we can distribute the whole thing whenever anyone new shows up.
